WAAAM Traffic Jam Car Show
Join us on a run up the scenic Columbia River Gorge to the WAAAM (Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum) Annual Hood River Car Show and Museum Swap Meet. Check out WAAAM Traffic Jam
The WAAAM has one of the largest collections of still-flying antique aeroplanes and still-driving antique automobiles in the country. Come to a museum, a car show, and a museum parts swap all in one great place. Don’t miss all fun activities such as technical sessions and riding in some historic vehicles. Special event admission of $20 gets you into the museum and the car show.
For those not interested in attending the Traffic Jam, you can continue onto the world-famous Hood River Fruit Loop. A 35-mile drive circling the scenic Hood River Valley with plenty of places to stop and sample the locally grown fruits, veggies and wines along the way. Check out Hood River Fruit Loop . You can also stop off in scenic Hood River for a relaxing afternoon enjoying a leisurly lunch and exploring the shops and waterfront.
Meet at the Lewis & Clark State Recreation Site east of Troutdale at 9:30 and leave at 10:00 am. Due to a road closure on the Historic Columbia River Highway, we will be taking the southern route around Mt Hood through the Devil's Backbone and Government Camp to Hood River on a scenic 97 mile, 2 hour drive over some beautiful twisty Miata roads.
