This is an NC-1 2008 Grand Touring with a Stage 2 suspension package. You’ll get a lot smiles and waves in this car – but very little body roll. Planned to keep it forever but pending move to Alaska pushes sale.

Color: Metallic midnight blue w/ brown soft top.
Mileage: 89,388. I am the 3rd owner. Bought it Spring 2014, in Champaign, IL with 28,800 miles. Have a sale flyer from the dealership.
Engine: standard 4 cylinder, no turboy76ujhn
Transmission: Shiftable automatic (paddle shifters).
Tires: Yokohama with about 30k miles on them. Nothing fancy. Didn’t get around to upgrading yet.
Oil changes every 5k, tire rotation every 10k. Brakes done at 60k miles. New battery, March 2024.
No known mechanical problems.
Some cosmetic defects – mostly normal wear but a couple deeper scratches. This little beauty tends to be a magnet for parking lot dings. Had the worst attended to in Boise, 2021.
Other known issues:
-The top is tight and dry but is wearing out, both the spring and the canvas.
-Passenger side sun shade won’t stay up.
-The passenger side top drain is clogged - if left in the rain, uncovered, the passenger side floor will get wet. No rust problem though.
-The trunk doesn’t seal well and will let water in moderate rain. Also no rust problem.
-The key fobs don’t work anymore. This is a known issue with the NC-1s. New fob was $250 at
the dealership in Boise two years ago. Keys work as they should but are getting loose in the fobs.
Cosmetic upgrades:
-Chrome fuel door (have original)
-Chrome door handle inserts,
-Chrome wiper bases.
-Chrome trunk keyhole cover
-Mazda valve stem covers
-Mazda brushed stainless scuff plates
-Mazda rubber floor mats (have original carpet)
-Sony stereo (professionally installed summer 2021 - have original)
-Performance upgrades (this is the Stage 2 suspension kit, installed Nov 2023)
-Flying Miata front sway bar & links
-Progressive rear sway bar & links
-Koni coil-over shock absorbers
I did the Stage 2 kit because it was due for shocks anyway. Had my work checked by Snook’s Auto Repair in Seaside, OR. Got a clean bill of health. Plastic undercarriage shrouds are still off.
-Aluminum radiator. Had it when I bought it. It could be the factory plastic one, but it looks
metal to me. Was going to upgrade for autocross in hot Boise but after looking at it, decided to
wait.
-K&N air filter (Summer 2021)
-Better than average spark plugs. Forget what I put in but did it in the summer of 2021 when I
was Boise and planned to get into autocross. Never ran a course with the car – moved here
instead. Never-used racing helmet will be included in the sale
.
This car is a gem to drive on winding roads. Nimble. Zoom zoom. Asking $10,000 OBO
