Save the Date!
Portland is justifiably famous for the annual All British Field Meet (ABFM), held over the Labor Day week-end. It is typically accompanied by a day of historic car racing. While online support for 2026’s festivities aren’t yet posted, here’s the overview that PIR posted for last year’s –
“Now in its 48th year, the All British Field Meet (ABFM) is the largest multi-day gathering of British cars in North America. Held September 4-6, 2025, at Portland International Raceway, this beloved tradition features hundreds of classic and modern British vehicles, a giant slalom competition, car club displays, vendor booths, food, music, and more. Whether you're a die-hard enthusiast or just love a good picnic with chrome and charm, ABFM is a can’t-miss celebration of British motoring culture.”
Assuming this year’s event parallels last year’s our Club event will begin with breakfast at Hayden Island’s Holiday Inn. From there we’ll drive to PIR for the ABFM, where we’ll be independent but may well wind up wandering around together. Participants are free to leave at any time.
In addition to ogling British cars, there’ll undoubtedly be racing, free access to pits, concessions with various food interpretations and who knows what else.
Financial dimensions aren’t yet available, either. Last year’s admission was $15/person. When I’ve gone in the past there has been parking available with those exercising free options walking further than those with paid options.
I’ll update all this as content becomes available. I’ve always found it to be a vastly entertaining day and am already looking forward to it.
