Long Way to Stevenson Run

Who wants to drive to Stevenson quickly when we can do it more enjoyably by taking the long way?  SW Washington has a zillion lovely roads, and this run will travel a a bunch of ‘em.  We’ll start at Ilani in the reasonably early morning, drive through northern Clark County, along Yale and Swift Lakes, and then south to Carson and Stevenson on the Columbia River.  And to a picnic lunch (bring your own plus the folding chairs) at Bob’s Park (I don't think this reference is to our Bob, but we can pretend).  These are gorgeous and varied roads – some nice rural roads as we begin, forested routes along the lakes, some fairly primitive ones over the ridge’s crest, and then some nice modern highway south and west to Stevenson.  The run will cover about 100 miles and entail a couple hours or so by the time we chomp into our sandwiches.  It will end near the Bridge of the Gods.

Covid remains a factor for everyone and none of us wants to hurt each other --  As with all Club activities, we’ll be observing distancing and masking practices.
