Run to Explore Oregon (UPDATE 2/14/22)

Run to Explore Oregon (Tentative)

Explore Oregon is in Grants Pass this year.  See http://www.oregonmx5.com/events.htm  Since the itinerary for Explore Oregon has not yet been posted, everything here is tentative and could change.  Explore Oregon run is July 7-10.  Note that this is week of July 4, so hotels and accommodations may be crowded.

We will leave July 6 at 9 AM and drive to Grants Pass.  (About 4 hours per Google map.)  Meet up location to be determined.

My current plan for a return trip might include Ashland (Shakespeare theater for you cultured folks, lots of good restaurants), a raft trip on the Rogue, Oregon Caves (if they are open, covid?), redwoods, maybe a ways down into California, then up the coast from Crescent City with a night in Bandon then on to wherever we get tired of the slow tourists on 101 and head home.  Or an alternative down 101 Arcata/Eureka, then along the Klamath River to Yreka and home.  All good roads with gorgeous views, lots of twisties, and plenty of places to break off if you don’t want to do the rest of the tour.  This is tentative until I see the program for Explore Oregon so we can avoid duplication of their planned runs and events.  If anybody has any suggestions as to things to see and do, places to eat, places to stay, etc. in this area, let me know.  And if anybody wants to help set this up, let me know.  The more input, the better the product.

I will post more info as I find out more.

From the Willamette Valley Miata Club:

Hello,

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!

Well it is that time of the year when we need to start planning our summer events, which I hope for all of incudes attending our 20th Anniversary celebration in July.  That's right Willamette Valley Miata Club turns 20 this year.  We have big things planned for Explore Oregon 2022, in Grants Pass, OR.  The one and only, Tom Matano, will be our guest for the weekend.

Due to limitations on seating for our Saturday night dinner REGISTRATION WILL BE LIMITED TO 110 PEOPLE, (40 have already registered as of 2/14/22) so get your reservations in early as there are many people that have already registered.  (NOTE - to the wise:  Looks like it would be a good idea to get your registration in as early as possible if you want to attend this signature event)

For more information visit our webpage at www.oregonmx5.com.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in July!
