This is a reschedule of the 3/4 and 4/2/23 events – snow should definitely not be a problem this time. Nobody wants to go to Ilwaco, but getting there is a lot of fun. You are invited to join the Rosentreters as we venture forth on a fun filled, scenic ride to the coast. Meet at the Safeway Fuel Station in Kelso (Three Rivers Mall just off I5) around 9:30 for a 10:00am departure. We will head up the north side of the Columbia to Cathlamet to catch a 15 minute ride on the “Oscar B” across the river to Westport (the Wakiakum County Ferry is the last operating ferry on the lower Columbia - fare is $6 cash only) and then out to Astoria. We will then turn north to cross the bridge back into Washington. We will be stopping at Cape Disappointment State Park North Head Lighthouse to watch some big waves roll in (Washington State Park Pass required $10 Single day pass or $30 annual – if you bought an annual pass for the run last fall to Goldendale Observatory it is still valid) and then back into Ilwaco to walk the port waterfront promenade (shops and fishing fleet). Many options for lunch –we hear the Salt Pub is good.
