Goldendale Observatory Run-(UPDATE 6/21/22)

Daniel is planning a run for Sunday July 31 over to the Observatory at Goldendale.
This is a run we did in 2019 to the Goldendale Observatory for the evening program. There is a $10.00 state park fee for parking unless you have an annual permit, both of which can be purchased online or at the observatory. Our group size is limited to 21-30 people. The program begins at 9PM bring a jacket.
6/21 Update - NOTE:  This permit is the Washington State Parks Discover Pass.  $10.00 buys a one day pass good for 24 hours.  $30.00 buys a one year pass (from the date of purchase) (if purchased on 6/21/22 it expires on 6/21/23).  There are many locations in the state that have self-serve credit card stations physically on site - the closest one we know to the Portland metro area is Battle Ground Lake State Park (just north of Battle Ground, WA).  Goldendale Observatory (our destination) is also the location of an automated self-serve credit card station.  Do not believe it is possible to pre-purchase a one-day pass at the automated credit card stations.  Pre-purchase of a one day pass may be possible online?
You may also purchase a pass via telephone and Online.  (see website)  Note: There is a $5.00 transaction fee charged extra for licensing for online and agency purchases.  If there is a chance that you will visit a WA State Park a couple more times in the next year - the annual pass is a very good deal.

The run will meet (4:30 leave @ 5:00) in Camas at the Safeway.  A direct route to Bingen for dinner at the Ayutlense Mexican restaurant with a slight detour for Cook-Underwood Rd. After dinner we will drive through BZ Corner to Glenwood and then to Goldendale.

After the program people are free to go home or spend the night in Goldendale. The Van Gundy's are spending the night in Goldendale at the Quality Inn.  If enough folks stay overnight, a return trip is not out of the realm of possibility, but is not planned at present.

What we do have so far--
-Group size is is limited to 30 people.  You probably do not want delay in registering for this one.
-Dinner will be at Ayutlense Family Mexican restaurant in Bingen.  We have stopped here before and it was good.
-There is a $10.00 Park Permit required.
